Employee Spotlight: Hristo M. – Support With Heart
With Easter bringing us the season of renewal and fresh beginnings, it is the perfect time to shine a light on the people who bring energy, growth, and heart to everything they do. This month, we are excited to spotlight Hristo—better known to teammates as Ico—who has been a dedicated member of the FastComet family since 2020. His journey from Customer Care to our Technical Support team shows how curiosity, dedication, and continuous learning can lead to both professional and personal fulfillment.
Whether he is solving client issues with patience and precision, chasing his one-year-old daughter around the house, or hiking in the mountains he loves, Hristo approaches each day with purpose and positivity. Read on to discover how his passion for technology, love for nature, and commitment to helping others make him such a valuable part of our team.
Please tell us a little about yourself, your role, and what a typical day looks like?
Hello, I am Hristo or just Ico. I joined FastComet back in 2020, so I have been a part of the team for almost five years. I started as a Customer Care specialist and later transitioned to the Technical Support team, where I currently work.

A typical day for me starts early, usually even before the alarm, thanks to our daughter, as she is even better at waking us up. My mornings involve a peaceful routine – breakfast, coffee (always with a glass of water, I never drink coffee without it). This makes me mentally charged for the day. Then I start work, diving into helping our clients with their technical needs. I always aim to solve every issue with care and attention to detail. Each day can bring something new, which can make it more interesting.
How did you get started in this field? What led you to this company?
I have always had a strong interest in web technologies and a natural desire to help people, as well as some practice in this previously, so working in web hosting support felt like a perfect fit for me. Finding this role was a mix of passion and good timing. I always enjoy diving into complex issues, helping people build or improve their online projects, and resolving different issues with them.
What I like about FastComet is their focus on customer satisfaction and the friendly, team-oriented culture. You can grow at such a place, learn constantly, and know that your work matters.
What is a valuable lesson you have learned in your career so far?
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that the work we do is important and truly matters to our clients and their projects. I always strive to give my best when helping on a case, pay attention to every detail, present clear information to our clients, and help them understand the nature of everything.
Time is also of the essence in many cases, especially in critical situations where actions need to be taken very quickly.
Another lesson is the importance of continuous learning. Technology evolves quickly, so curiosity and keeping your knowledge up to date are important. I have even learned new things from clients during support cases. But also, one should have a good basis to be able to build and learn more.
Communication and empathy are just as important as technical knowledge. Understanding what the client is really asking is essential.
Is there anything fun or unexpected about you that your colleagues might not know?
I am passionate about sports, especially football, and I like watching it. I mainly watch the major European leagues.
Additionally, I try to stay active and move more, but I will admit that so far, I am watching more sports than participating in such activities.
Finally, I also have a deep appreciation for nature and enjoy spending time outdoors whenever possible. I have a favorite spot in the mountains that offers horse trekking, and I am trying to visit it every year. I like hiking in the mountains in general, not only on horseback, but also on foot, and sometimes by bicycle.

Environmental causes and ecology are something I have always been interested in. I have volunteered in tree planting events and other ecological initiatives. Small actions matter, and I would love to inspire more people to take part in saving our environment – it is important not just for us but also for future generations.
And how does a day outside of work look like for you, Hristo?
Outside of work, my world revolves around my family – my wife and our daughter, who is 1 year old. We love spending time together, especially outdoors. Whenever we get the chance, we like to travel or escape into nature, and we are really looking forward to the warmer Spring and Summer days.

When time allows, I still enjoy catching up on sports, following my favorite teams, and other small hobbies, although I admit my hobbies have taken a bit of a back seat lately.

I also love to cook, I can definitely say it is a hobby for me. I cook more traditional/local dishes, but I also like to experiment and try different recipes, sometimes ones I have seen on TV, haha. Probably what I am best at is making different pasta dishes and fish.
Is there a personal goal or achievement you are most proud of or looking forward to?
I am proud of the dedication I bring and the positive impact I have made by helping our clients. There is a special satisfaction that comes from turning a customer’s stressful situation into a positive experience, and knowing I played a role in that.
Looking forward, I am always focused on self-improvement – both professionally and personally, as well as helping others to improve and grow. Teamwork and having people you can rely on are important, so I am striving and trying to contribute to that. I enjoy learning new things, whether it is a new technology, a better way to communicate, or a personal improvement, there is always room to grow.
Hristo, what advice would you give to someone interested in your career path?
My advice is to approach with passion and genuine curiosity, and understanding of how important that can be to our clients. Technical knowledge is important, but just as important is the desire to help others and to keep learning. When you care about what you do and the people you are doing it for, everything starts to fall into place.
Growing Together, One Step at a Time
Hristo’s journey reminds us that growth often comes from the care we put into each interaction, whether it’s guiding a customer through a technical issue or simply lending a hand when it is needed most. His blend of empathy, curiosity, and reliability reflects the values we strive to uphold every day at FastComet.
As we celebrate spring and the spirit of renewal it brings, we are grateful for team members like Hristo who continuously inspire those around them to learn, improve, and make a positive impact—one support ticket (or pasta dish) at a time.
